”The Vatican’s doctrinal office has officially declared it possible for Catholic priests to bless same-sex unions and divorced and remarried couples, under the condition that the blessings do not send mixed messages about the church’s teaching on sacramental marriage and do not occur within a liturgical celebration”

”This Declaration considers several questions that have come to this Dicastery in recent years. In preparing the document, the Dicastery, as is its practice, consulted experts, undertook a careful drafting process, and discussed the text in the Congresso of the Doctrinal Section of the Dicastery. During that time, the document was discussed with the Holy Father. Finally, the text of the Declaration was submitted to the Holy Father for his review, and he approved it with his signature.”

PS Vatican News skriver att det är personerna som välsignas – inte föreningen………Det låter som Vatikanen försöker slå knut på sig själv ……..
”Although the couple is blessed but not the union, the Declaration notes that what is blessed is the legitimate relationship between the two people: in “a brief prayer preceding this spontaneous blessing, the ordained minister could ask that the individuals have peace, health, a spirit of patience, dialogue, and mutual assistance—but also God’s light and strength to be able to fulfill his will completely” (par. 38).”
Jag är benägen att hålla med Irène – mycket väsen för väldigt lite, kan man tycka. Och ganska tydliga signaler om att man inte riktigt tänkt färdigt. Men den nya ton som påve Franciskus anslagit (”Vem är jag att kunna döma?…” osv) har naturligtvis redan i sig inneburit ett avsevärt steg i en ny riktning. Även om det är omöjligt att förutspå vad det slutligen skall kunna leda till. Det nya påveval, som mänskligt att döma inte kan ligga särskilt långt fram i tiden, är väl också en osäkerhetsfaktor.
Jag skulle inte uttrycka mig som du gör. Deklarationen är en mycket tydlig och viktig signal men de teologiska förklaringarna är däremot onödigt många och onödigt skruvade !
